Ace, the venerable Gumshoos, and his student, Chief, investigate the murder of a creature they've never seen before. Or at least, one that Chief has never seen before. Ace is very familiar with the creatures he calls Carbink. But what is it doing all the way out in this grass? Shouldn't it have been hiding in a cave? What killed it?
