Personality
Champagne is as mild-mannered and sweet-natured as the average pearl, but has a mischievous streak. She is confident, even in the face of adversity, and believes in herself as an individual. She is compassionate and has a strong sense of justice, so she must be watched closely outside of her owner's private quarters to ensure that she doesn't cause trouble. Her patience seldom wears thin and she almost never loses her temper.
Bio
During the Rebellion, many pearls became ownerless and were forced to take shelter in quartz campsites, where nurseries were set up for the safety of lost servants and expectant gems. Champagne's mother lost her owner mere hours before she was due to deliver, but was taken into one such nursery and allowed to deliver her single geode safely. Champagne hatched shortly afterwards and, for once, all seemed well for her mother, until the sleeping camp was invaded by feral fossils, a gem type designed to shatter gems that had turned on Homeworld and now sought to destroy its own forces. Champagne's mother fled in fear of her life, but didn't make it far before she was caught and mauled to death, the infant in her arms somehow unnoticed as she rolled away from the gorey scene. Champagne, only three days old, was alone in the snow for several days, before she was discovered by General Carnelian, whose own pregnant mate had perished in the same fossil attack that had shattered Champagne's mother. Carnelian intended to turn her back over to the nursery, but became attached to her and made the decision to raise her as her own child, in the absence of those she had lost. Today, Champagne lives quietly with her adoptive mother in their private quarters on Homeworld.
