Here's another redesign of an iconic character: The First Lady of Street Fighter.
Chun-Li's costume is cute, sexy, and definitely a product of the 90's. I wanted to see if I could give her a practical outfit for her occupation (police) while still staying true to the original outfit. I also like the Alpha series costume, by the way :)
-Head/Hair: I took out the bun covers but kept the buns. I think the silhouette they create are almost Mickey Mouse-like in their iconism (not to mention their shape). They also meet the practicality requirements of police work.
-Physique: The thunder thighs stay, obviously. She's definitely a everyday-is-leg-day squat girl.
-Torso: Keeping her yellow and blue color scheme, I went with a blue jacket over a yellow button-up. The rolled-up sleeves make her look ready to throw down in a fight, perhaps one that takes place on the streets...?
-Lower Body: I also kept the color scheme here with the brown pants and white belt and shoes to replace the leggings, sash, and boots respectively. These professional pants show off her legs but are also more in line with something an Interpol investigator would wear.
Accessories: I have the badge displayed prominently and the sunglasses. Both are uniform code for "fictional detective person." She could be in CSI. I gave her the non-spiked bracelets from the alpha series as the spikes seem to me to be extremely cumbersome and impractical. I do like bracelets in general, but the ones in the original design are so incredibly incongruous with the rest of her design.
Let me know what you guys think of my take on Chun-Li and if there's a classic female character you'd like to see me take on.
