"Well we've got who-knows how much time and we're running out of it." Ash said "And it won't matter if there's this wall of fire. Can't you just turn off the gas with your powers?"
Circuit shook her head, and then her phone turned on. "The valves are manual cranks. Too primative for my power and we don't now where they are. We'll have to down them from here."
"How?" Ash asked "There's nothing to plug up a blown pipe like that. And, last I checked, you're not fireproof."
"You think those wings could blow them down for a moment?" her phone said, and Circuit looked at her. "Just stay at one place, and beat the wind into it."
"Yeah, like that will put out the fire." Ash said "We could just-"
"I don't need the fires out, I need them weak." Circuit's phone said "That's all I ask."
"You mean you'd go through, even if the fire was there?" Ash saw her nod to her "You're nuts! You'd still get burnt badly."
"That's why you'll have to reduce the damge of the flames. " her phone replied, and the Circuit charged at the fire.
Ash wasn't left with time to argue. she planted her feet firmly and then beat her wings at the fire. The blown air rushed passed Circuit and blew open a hole in the wall of fire, but the hole was shrinking already as she was entering. Ash beat her wings harder and faster to keep that area clear as Circuit dove through, and even afterwards, she kept going as long as she could.
Circuit looked around the area. Smoke was everywhere, blurring the eyes of everyone that stood, and choked out all their air? She crouched low and looked for Torrent, but she wasn't in the halls. The floor a foot away from the elevator doors were covered in water, and it was slowly seeping further. She stepped around it and tried to search room by room for her friend, but for a while there was just abandon ruin and loads of thick smoke.
She pulled out her phone and held it up high and on speaker. "Torrent, call out to me!" It shouted "I can't see you!" There was no reponse afterwards in that room, so she ran and tried in another room. "Torrent, respond!"
She heard a hard cough, but it wasn't from the room. At the next few coughs she followed it to a room near the gas fire, and found a vent busted open. She dropped on her knees and looked in.
"Ana?" Torrent said weakly "You came for me?"
Circuit nodded and then grabbed her. In one move she pulled her out, and then she helped her up and walked her to the hall.
