As Queen Hathor kept vigil of her surroundings, she couldn't help recalling what Lupe proposed after she had just barely completed the endurance challenge. Essentially, the Grand Chieftain's challenge seemed like a mere game of hide & seek deep within the forest located outside of both nations' jurisdiction as the hunting grounds. Hathor accepted the chieftain's seemingly simple challenge, but it was something Lupe had said that made her feel uneasy. You will have an hour to hide yourself as best as you can. Afterwards, I shall come looking for you, and all you have to do....is not get squashed.(It was that one word which didn't make any sense.)I believe you meant to say caught, did you not?Lupe didn't answer Hathor’s question. Instead, she turned over the hourglass; thus, commencing the challenge. With her incredible feline velocity, Hathor wasted no time dashing to her designated location; she used the entire hour to seclude herself quite thoroughly. At first, Hathor was concerned about the Wolf Nation's reputation for being renowned trackers/hunters, but as she hid on top of a tree pass the hour mark, the Cat Queen was confidant she would succeed triumphantly at this challenge. All of a sudden, tremors began shaking the land which caught Hathor completely by surprise. As the tremors grew louder and stronger, Hathor loses her balance and falls off her hiding spot. On ground level, the tremors began to seem almost rhythmic to Hathor -- as if they were...footsteps? Suddenly, the crackling sounds of the surrounding trees being spread apart gave way to a large figure looming over the Cat Queen: it was Lupe at a colossal size being taller than even the trees themselves! At that moment, Hathor was speechless; all she could do is gaze with disbelief and fear, as the enormous Grand Chieftain stood before her, and then spoke with a booming voice.THERE YOU ARE! I FOUND YOU. TO BE HONEST, YOU WERE NOT EXACTLY HARD TO FIND; MY TRACKING SKILLS ARE NOT EXAGGERATED, IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW. ONCE I WAS IN RANGE, I USED A PARTICULAR DEVICE TO HELP MAKE THINGS INTERESTING FOR THE BOTH OF US. NOW, YOU DO REMEMBER THE RULE, DON'T YOU?!It was at that very moment, Hathor realized what Lupe said wasn't a mistake; she was being quite literal. Hathor tried to speak, but she just couldn't. It took the sudden appearance of Lupe's massive sole coming down towards her to snap out of it. Hathor narrowly jumped out of the way, as the giant sandaled foot came crashing down. As Lupe lifted her foot up, Hathor's face turned pale at the sight of the enormous foot-shaped crater. Before she knew it, Lupe's sandaled foot came down on Hathor, again! The Cat Queen evaded it, and began running for dear life; Lupe quickly gave chase. Hathor didn't even try hiding; the only course of action she could think of was to just run from the thunderous footsteps that followed her. As the Cat Queen ran in a panicked frenzy, Lupe's large stride made it easy to keep up with the frantic feline.I BEAT YOUR CHALLENGE, HATHOR. FOR THE SAKE OF MY FAMILY AND PEOPLE, I WITHSTOOD YOUR HUMILIATING TORTURE WHICH I JUST KNOW YOU ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT. WELL, NOW THE SHOE IS ON THE OTHER FOOT. SINCE YOU SEEMED TO LIKE THE TASTE OF MY FEET...HOW ABOUT I GIVE YOU AN EVEN BETTER MOUTHFUL OF THEM?!Even though this was against their agreement about non fatal challenges, Hathor was just too scared and distracted to point it out; she wouldn't even dare look behind her. All she knew, is that there was a livid giantess stomping angrily behind her. Hathor ran, and she ran, but no matter how far and fast she ran, the crashing sounds of Lupe's footsteps drew closer; there was just no escaping them. Eventually, the Cat Queen's speed began to decrease with exhaustion, and that's when the sky above Hathor was overshadowed followed by the rumbling sound of Lupe's sandaled foot descending upon her, and then....THOOM!!!
PHEW! I swear, it takes longer & longer to write these stories to go along with these illustrations, but I enjoy doing it As promised, here's the follow-up commissioned illustration to Hathor's endurance challenge beautifully crafted by the-chaos-creatures!
After beating Hathor's humiliating challenge (just barely), Lupe had her own specific challenge for the cruel Cat Queen Unfortunately, Hathor didn't know about Lupe's assortment/collection of confiscated tech that she keeps for certain emergencies. In this case, using an enlarging device to grow colossal for some serious payback, seems pretty deserving! Despite the grim looking outcome, I assure you, Hathor survives Though, Lupe does make sure she feels the pressure! Maybe some time being slightly grinded underneath the Grand Chieftain's gigantic sandaled foot will help teach Hathor to think twice before she even thinks/dares about tickling Lupe's feet ever again!!!
