No we're not, sadly. It's not the situation we wanted to be in, but at the time that's how it worked out. Our roommate urged us to stay off the lease as well.

really? Uh... Im a property manager, and i would have advised you to be on the lease. if your not on the lease the owner cant evict you but honestly thats the only real good reason why you shouldnt be on a lease. If your on the lease you can have records of you renting which can make other landlords want to rent to you as well. plus that way you can also have a say in when you leave where your renting from.

I know and understand that. But as I said, my roommate encouraged my boyfriend and I to not be on the lease. It was a mistake and we're paying for it now. I'm trying to pull us out of this.
