It's literally been months for me to get this thing scanned.
Me as a Gambel's Quail, which until recently I've been calling "the woo-bird." I've been hearing a bird calling "woo!" but haven't been able to find it, largely because I was looking in the trees. I finally spotted a male Gambel's Quail perched on a rock, "woo"-ing his heart out at the lady birds, who were quite impressed with how he bobbed his topknot feather .
I knew going into it that it would be difficult to get it scanned, I had no idea it would take this long.
A BIIIG thank you to D.O.P.R. for scanning so much for me today!!
On cardstock, with pen & marker....still those substandard markers I got last year, can't wait to be rid of them (I'm too cheap to throw them out while they still work).

Oh yes! I tend to throw food scraps (like broccoli stems & grapes that have gone bad) over the wall into the desert scrub, so over the past months the local quail have learned to hang out to get first dibs.
It looks like they're going to fall flat on their faces while they go booking across the dirt! And those legs--it looks like they're on a wheel, spinning round & round, hollering 'Woo! Woo!' Frickin' quail are the local comedy relief.
