I scratched this one out of a shard of white soap stone at this year's MMC. there was this base inbetween the various pieces, and that shard which fit almost like being made for it. so I carved that white lion out of it... and added some gold metallic water colour to enhance some details which were invisible within the white surface. I pondered silver, but found out that cup of silver water colour was long since empty. :)

thank you. :) it was like an endless carving somehow even though I had proper tools. I tried to use a bit of the shard's original structure... then it started to rain, and we had to hurry and pack up all the stuff befor the rain would make a mess out of the heaps of talcum. XD I carved out a couple details these days and dipped it in vegetable oil for a couple hours to enhance the structure. in afterthought a clear coat would maybe have worked as well. gotta try it out.
yes and no. I can't guarantee how it would look like, and I would have to work on the back porch, something unpleasant with our current rainy weather...
like wood carvers I try to follow the stone's structures, using as much natural surface as possible. so, it's a bit hard to tell how it would look like... why, do you think there would be interest?
