Endless Realms - World of Skidi
Supplementary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
A poster-sized illustration/cover art for the advanced Skidi race book for Endless Realms featuring the four species of Skidi protecting their fields from an elephant grub, who you may recognise from my submission earlier this month :b

love all the little fuzzy guys buzzing around.
don't understand what they think they're going to do about a giant millipede
with their little stick pins though, or why they'd be trying to.
i understand such things are the meat of the role playing game genre,
just not entirely why they must be.

*chuckles* Believe it or not, there is a bit of a backstory behind this one: the art director explained that the glider subspecies adore flowers the same way dwarves adore gold, and their lands are renowned for the vast fields of flowers and fruit-bearing greenery. Skidi in general are pretty social and cooperative, and things as big as this caterpillar can be a pretty destructive force (sort of like real life elephants :b), so they regularly go out together to trim the population down, then have a big celebration and feast afterwards, cooking up the grub meat to share with the whole village.
*chuckles* I think the ones with the greenest thumbs are probably the Yakshi (like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20964653/ ), who literally have green thumbs and are sentient plants XD But yes, aside from them, you have a good point XD Someone should have grown giant caterpillar-bait to lead them away <3
