She's NO SUPER HERO, She Doesn't have SUPER STRENGTH, HEAT VISION nor ROCKLIKE HIDES but she has one POWERFUL slogan...
"GET AWAY FROM HER, YOU BITCH!!"
Ah the Memories... of going to the Theater and buying a ticket to see "ALIENS" there was no doubt that the BEST HIGHLIGHT of the film is when RIPLEY got into the POWER LOADER and kick the ALIEN QUEEN'S ASS... there were other things I loved about that MOVIE and Ms. SIGOURNEY WEAVER was ideal for that ROLL...
The MOVIE was a complete smash at the BOX office and MS. WEAVER play her roll again IN ALIEN 3, and in ALIEN RESURRECTION Not to mention also in 1978's "ALIEN", the Prequel to ALIENS. MS. WEAVER also did other rolls including 'GORILLAS IN THE MIST (mmmm GORILLAS) GHOSTBUSTERS 1 & 2 WORKING GIRL, COPYCAT and GALAXY QUEST.
My Super Power Collection HERO #3 goes to WARRENT OFFICER ELLEN RIPLEY and Her CAT, JONES. for all my LOVE and Respect to SIGOURNEY WEAVER.
I also did her in Smackdown vs Raw 2008 on Xbox360... you can view it here.

Did you know that the main heroine of Nintendo's Metroid series, Samus Aran was based off of Ripley also? Coincidentally there is an alien enemy in the Metroid series called Ridley, and that the name of the director of the first movie "Alien", is named Ridley Scott? The more you know!
Yes, she is a very strong character that gives women everyone someone to look up to and want to be morel like. Even with that hard nose look to her, she comes across very sexy and one always want to see her come out on top of any fight she finds herself in. Hehehehe...I am sure that line is one of the best lines of all time.
That women can step up and assume the mantle of leadership and heroism should be a given.
To think that Sygorney Weaver's first role was as the helpless-moppet-turned-possessed-sex-kitten in GhostBusters, then she cranks out Ripley like it ain't nothing but a thang.
When I saw "Aliens" in the theatre, the whole place roared with applause when she emerged in that loader-suit to battle the Queen: "Get away from her, you BITCH!"

I'm sorry to hear about Panda... But it's not bad to die of old age. I'm sure he lived a good life.
I do remember Ripley's cat. I think it was nice that she looked after it. In many movies pets are there just to serve as casual victims and monster baits, but caring about the cat made Ripley seem like a very humane character.

That she does... in the First ALIEN film I thought for the longest TIME he was in cahoots with the alien... because at a lot of the times a few crew members were killed because they had to go after that damn cat...
and i was at the end of my seat when Ripley was trying to capture him and he wouldn't cooperate.... but it worked out at the end, also look carefully on some added bonuses when Ripley left him in the hallway when she first saw the ALIEN and he smacked the Cat carrier around.... pretty intense stuff.

Damn straight. Ripley forever!
Though they sure ham-handedly managed the third movie, and much later fourth movie even worse. I guess by Alien 3 the old actor for Newt might have been too old for the movie or whatever reason, but killing her off after she was such a big character in the second seemed a little pointless =/
We already had Ripley awaking in Aliens to find out that her daughter had recently died of old age, why was it necessary to kill off another?
