So a while back I kind of got into the commission thing. Wanted to learn how to interact with artists. It was a learning experience in how I need to word my commission request. The types of resources and references they needed. Also knowing what to look for in a good commission artist. How timely they are in responding, they type of questions they ask about what I wanted, more specifics.
I gave each artist the same prompt at the start. From there I just kind of watched them do their own thing.
Javkiller was one of the first artists that did a background, when I didn't ask for one. It actually kind of put all the others to shame at the time by how much a background added to the feeling of the piece. I think I contacted Javkiller at a busy time because he was one of the artists I probably interacted the least with. Not that his lack of interaction was a bad thing, but it was like... Here is the linework! Here is the Final product! Bin-bam-thank-you-mama. It wasn't anything to complain about, but it seemed like he just went off and did his own thing sort of. Which was kind of what I wanted him to do, so I can't really complain about it. However, in the future I definitely will keep in mind that I need to be involved in the creation process.
