I'm surprise the mouse and rat were getting along. I always thought rats and mice would just go at each others throats. 0_o;;;

it's easier to introduce them when they're young. both in this case are very young so it's less of a problem. i'm still keeping a close eye on them tho.

if you introduced a mouse (or another rat) into the cage of an older rat, then the older rat would definatly pick a fight and likely kill the "intruder" since it's an already established territory. But since they're both young and i put them into a cage that neither of them is familiar with it is more likely that they will get along.

so far so good. they like to snuggle and groom one another =3

Well that's defiantly good news. Like I said, I always thought that rats and mice would fight the instant they come in close range of each other regardless of age. Rather interesting to know. :)
