because i am such a sucker for scars. Since Kayden gets whipped a lot she has multiple scars on her back from it. sometimes when her back is hit, it triggers her natural behavior to come out and she goes insane,usually killing a lot of people.
Yoru on the other hand got his scars from his mother clawing his cheek after finding out about his and Kayden's relationship.
