The Blackfish Carbine was first engineered around the 1840's or 50's. It was modified from a musket to use cartrage amunition and uses a lever action system to function.
Its beleived that some how Oliver Winchester came across one of these weapons wich inspired him to mimic the system for production of the now famous "Henry" rifles as well as future models with the Winchester name.
