He really reminds me of Benkei from the stories about Yoshitsune. Is that who you based him on? And is he a raccoon or a tanuki?

Anyway, I love this. I'm a sucker for old Japanese stories/art and most things inspired by them. I especially love the very stylized inking you've done here.
