Some covers I made for the Spellbook flavor feature of the Card Game Mage Wars Arena.
It's a very good game and passionate about it enough that I decided to make my own book cover sleeves to replace the default designs on the provided books to hold the cards.
For those not familiar, Mage Wars Arena is just like any other Customizable Strategy Dueling Card Game (Magic, Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, etc) but is a Living card game model with fixed releases, no boosters or randoms (Netrunner, Game of Thrones, etc), with its main two differences being 1) no deck to shuffle and draw since your whole deck (called a "Spellbook" in MWA) is your hand for the game. and 2) it plays out on a grid/board for movement and spell range tactics.
And for style flavoring, the game provides spellbooks which are just simple binders to hold your constructed deck and draw from at appropriate points in the game, but not necessary since some players just use regular deck boxes. But I couldn't settle for that so I drafted up some patterns, bought supplies, and created my own books according to the theme of each build in the style of an old Tome/Grimoire. And yes, the clasps do wrap the whole way around and snap shut to keep the book closed tight so cards or tokens don't fall out even during rough transport.
