I get invited to a furry muscle group chat, or other furry chat rooms,

and if its not whining about how sad/oppressed/trumped they are its all just... being sexual.

My experience with group chats like this is for solely share thirsts, so don't expect a normal conversation like you want with them. They may be wrong for not having a little of self control, but you might be wrong in being there too since that group might be for that sole reason.

I still understand your frustration.

I just want to draw my toons, without someone chiming in that "it needs a dick" or "I'd fuck them"

or the one thing that just straight up triggers me

Ah Samnson, Im sorry, maybe you might being showing your work to the different target audience. Most people of the fandom are here for the porns so, you might expect to hear that.

I for once, know how to appreciate a cute art or a SFW art, but you have to find the targets for it.

I mean, there is a differnce between explicit and porn, and yes, inside the fandom, there is a target audience for this kind of stuff.

They are the minority, of course, and like everyone, like some lewd and porn sometimes. If that's what you are aiming, maybe you should try reach them. Have you though in making a AD account for separate your work?

Also, don't let those comments hit you so hard. I am sure it happen to all artists everytime they try to do something different or safe, and people are used to otherwise from them.

You work is amazing, SFW or NSFW. Guess what, I like to see dicks better, but that doesn't stop me to appreciate arts that doesn't have them.

Yea I ended up leaving chats because they get overly sexual or stuff...
More so I think people need to chill and enjoy the artwork/ character a bit more other than, "OMG so much dick~" kinda stuff. Don't get me wrong, I have tons of sexual characters, artwork, themes, and stories in my stuff. However it is not me or the conversation 24/7 and all a chat is about.

This is a sad truth about it, you will get the overly obsessive cunts who will over react and get excited over a bunch of pixels on a screen. (Not going to name any names *cough cough*)

You are an an artist and you can draw what you want, if people see stuff and say, "oh it needs more dick hue" then tell then to go fuck themselves. Do what ever the fuck you want, you have the full freedom to do so. Reading back as some of the things you said, you replied: "There in is a question, do I even have a audience for me kind of work?", and the answer is yes you do, but people who enjoy peoples art just for the sake of enjoying it (Like myself) don't speak up as much as the people who like the porn stuff because to be quite honest, their needs and satisfactions are being fulfilled, because an artist is just posting stuff.

This community is a tough one, and it is full of people who are like this. And it's especially tough when you create content and post it onto here. Just do what you want, if people think that it should be more sexualised, ignore them. They don't appreciate you or their work, they just want to beat their tiny little sausages in front of their screen.

And you're right, most people do not understand love and emotion through characters or even actual people for that matter. So many people are blinded and brain washed by fantasy that they don't know any different. They don't understand the real connection between people. Yes, someone can look at a piece of work and be like "Oh yeah, it's just two people doing (insert whatever here), big deal", when there is, or can be, so much more the the work.

Furries are a bunch of sexual deviants 90% of the time. Dicks are nice, sure, but not everything needs it. I write SFW stuff most of the time, and I don't get any fucking recognition. The second I put a dick in the story or an m/m tag people are "Oh yeah that's so hot *fapfapfap*" and it's bloody annoying! That's to say nothing of the social awkwardness most furries express in chats or private messages. :/

I know this is a month old, but I resonate with this.


I used to be that kind of furry you vented about, but that was so many years ago. Time mellowed me out and while I do enjoy a good big fat dick or lady bits, I'm kinda over making it the focus. It was quite fun doing clean art and made me happier overall. Most furries are either teenagers or young adults with raging hormones and/or don't know how to socialize without looking like a moron. I had some people wanting to make my non sexual characters....well, sexual and it bothered me to no end.


Chat rooms are cancer and doubly so with furries. Most furries just want to "RP" and by that, I mean diving right into the sex while contributing to the RP as little as possible. It's tough, but there are people out there with similar mindsets and are will to chat about furry stuff that doesn't involve dicks. However, this place is basically THE go to for porn and most of it is free. People with your mindset are a dime in a dozen and I don't know any site that promotes SFW furry stuff, but there has to be some out there.


Just know that FA is for porn and that is what people want.
