Shade, lighting and the water effects are amazing, tho a small note on the background.
snow along a small waterfall always has a snowy edge over it, the bridge could show some wood features if it is entirely of wood during such time era.
you did the water and snow effects well, the place the character is in looks a bit *tilts head* hmm.. I would say if its the typical japanese kind of bushes i would understand but it looks still a bit out of place.

in other words, keep going along the road! this shows what you did last artwork, realy amazing character details and great background evolution!
