This is Verin and his SO, Krystys. This scene is drawn when they see each other for the first time in a year and a half. Verin's clan was attacked, and a traitor catalyzed the breakup of the clan. Krystys is from a different clan, and when she went to investigate why Verin wasn't on time, she found ash and bodies. Both of them ended up in a town known as Rin in the Rock, though slightly staggered. Krystys was there first, and had joined the Artisan's Guild there (She is the one who made the shoulder guard). When a guild war broke out about three months prior to this situation, the Thieves' Guild took all of the members of the Artisan's Guild hostage. Krystys had given up all hope of ever seeing Verin again.
