Name: Deborah Katherine Bryar
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Height: 4'9"
Weight: 115 lbs
Species: Eastern Cottontail/English Spot rabbit hybrid
Biographical Data
Deborah is Megan Bryar's elder daughter and, like her mother, she is part of the ruling family of the city-state of Oseille on the island of Viridis. She takes great pride in her heritage and, like the rest of her family, she takes her responsibilities as a leading figure of her community quite seriously. At present, however, she is keen to make her own way in the world and she very much wants to be known as more than just Megan's daughter. To this end, she works as Oseille's resident blacksmith and farrier, having taken over the position after Ciara Lohan was obliged to move on to greater things. She was taught her craft by both Ciara and Ciara's own teacher, Saoirse O'Malley, and she shows promise to become an even better blacksmith than either of them.
Despite this, she craves adventure and the chance to really make her mark on the world.
Personal Statement
Okay, to start off with, there'll be none of this "Miss Bryar" stuff, please. Miss Bryar is my mother, or would be if she cared about that kinda thing. I am just plain Deborah, please. I am Oseille's master blacksmith and farrier, the youngest one ever, so far as the records show. I've just always been good with my hands, and I just kind of started helping out in my cousin Saoirse's forge practically from when I was able to walk. She and Ciara taught me everything they knew, but really it's pretty easy once you get started. I think Megan was disappointed that I didn't want to be a historian like she is, but there's a whole world out there to explore and a good blacksmith can find work anywhere, while nobody outside of Viridis cares about the same old stories we've been telling each other for generations. I haven't told anyone yet, but one day I plan to get out there and really make a name for myself. I want to be famous for what I've done, not who my ancestors were.

Ah, Deborah, what plans I have for you. LOL. I can't help but notice she probably isn't wearing much under the apron. No doubt she's not really planning to work right now but just being a cheeky bunny. As for that craving for adventure, she might reconsider a little after she gets a taste of what awaits her in the Talwyn nation. ;)
I love this picture of her and both the hairstyle and fashion sense you've given her. I plan to factor it into future things... ;)
Deborah definitely seems to have that fiery streak a lot of your characters seem to have. No doubt it will make some of mine get some gray hairs. LOL. :)

Oh, you and me both! I really do need to do more with this girl, myself, and maybe even write a few short pieces featuring her to help flesh her out a little. But I really do love her, and this is a fantastic picture of her. I was a little bit wary of posting this here, as I wasn't sure if it was maybe a bit too suggestive. But I finally decided that what she's wearing really isn't any more revealing then that lovely black dress Ciara swans around in sometimes. Besides, I think it's really cute.
She is quite a little troublemaker, as I suppose we all were in our youth, in various ways. And, of course, she does take after her mother quite a bit. But she's a pretty good kid, too, and I'm sure that with a bit of experience and maybe some gentle guidance she'll settle down into a pretty decent and reliable gal.
As for her craving for adventure, I suppose we shall have to see. But if Ciara's taste for it hasn't been dulled after everything she's been through, I suspect Deborah's wont be dulled too much, either.

Where does she make her debut, anyway? I know I haven't reached her yet. ;) For my part she's slated to appear in book 4, so she'll get to meet Caspian and be part of the glue holding our universes together, so if you do anything with her after that time we'll have to coordinate. ;) Anyway, this is a great pic, and it's perfectly fine since nothing's really showing, other than her personality and that awesome hair.
I tend to think Ciara's family and relatives seem to inherit more of that gene than others, haha. Though no doubt it gives her lots of good stories even if she isn't a historian like her mother. :) Though she forgets, being a historian is not just about local history, but learning and sharing that of others. ;)
Maybe she'll be an adrenaline junkie and get off from saving the world from a time manipulating bear. ;)

I haven't actually included her in any of my stories yet. Oseille was written before I created her and by the time she became a full developed character, rather than a vague idea, City of Cats was already well on its way to completion. I have considered adding in a bit of a cameo in my upcoming novel, perhaps centered around her inheriting the forge when Ciara leaves. I've kind of had it in mind that she moves into Ciara's old house, since it originally belonged to her family anyway. But I've been holding back on adding her in since I didn't want to screw anything up with future projects.
It does tend to run in the family, yeah. Then again, considering that it was Ciara's ancestor who founded her kingdom, perhaps it's no surprise that her bloodline has a good deal of fire running through it. As far as Deborah and history goes, I think she would probably be happier with historians on Viridis were more like modern academics rather than traditionalist story-tellers. As much as they are bound to tell the truth, it does rather limit their scope quite a bit. So who knows? Maybe she'll help revolutionize the field in the fullness of time. The nice thing about her is that there are so many ways her life can go at this point, leaving her limited only by the constraints of imagination and, I suppose, the logic of her world.

Me neither. I guess I was feeling a little odd, thinking about Deborah having such a skill set and knowing that you and Lauren have plans for her in upcoming works. Wondering if and how Molly would be in her life. Or if maybe we're talking about two different realities or something. What's canon for her? Stuff like that. So I guess you could say Mom is a little insecure sometimes.
We haven't really hashed out any details yet. Everything is pending so far as I know, unless Lauren has made plans I don't know about yet. Though I doubt she'd keep anything back. I can understand being a bit insecure, though, and I'm sorry about that. It was certainly not my intention! I will say, though, that I have every intention of keeping Molly in Deborah's life. I've actually been making plans to include both Molly and Emer in some future stories, when I have a chance, and so long as you (and Dani, in Molly's case) don't mind. I can promise neither of them would come to any harm. There's no danger of them getting the Jessamine treatment!
That's all very good to know. Thank you! You have free rein to do as you like with Molly and Emer in story form too. You already knew you had it for pictures. I was pretty sure you'd never give another of our girls the kind of treatment you gave Jessamine in Silver Street.
And as an aside. Molly is all mine. Though she is my and Dani's daughter, I'm the one who designed and created her and she is © to me, not a shared © as with the children of your and my characters.

Oh! For some reason, I'd thought Dani shared Molly with you. So thanks for correcting me! Not that it would have made any difference so far as I'm concerned, but I like to be accurate in citing who owns which characters, especially if anything should get published.
And thank you for letting me have free rein with the stories, too. And for trusting me with them so much. I really do appreciate it, and when I do get things written I plan on running them by you before making them public, just so I can make sure you'll be satisfied with them, too.

Lots of people are a bit confused as to ownership of some of my (and our) characters. One person who wrote a story about the whole Rabbitfangs family thought Jessie was my character before I corrected him. That story hasn't been posted to my knowledge. Probably will never be. But yes, I agree and feel it's important to have the ownership of characters properly credited.
You know I trust you completely. I'd love to get a preview of whatever you write that you'd like me to see. Not because I feel a need to scrutinize it to see if I approve. I know I'll approve. I'd just like to see it. Get the sneak preview.
