Nods because the author who was in WWI himself wrote that war is not manly but terrible...

The movie was shown in Germany before the National Socialists came to power. They frequently went into the theatres showing the move and set off stink bombs so that not only the showing was ruined, but the theatre was unusable for several days afterwards. Eventually theatre owners across Germany got the message and refused to show the movie.

During the time that they were in power many "non-Germanic/Jewish" books were burned, not just "All Quiet".
