The Brave Minstrel
This was perhaps the most ambitious drawing I've done in terms of lighting/atmosphere.
This is my rendition of Tilo, a fully-anthro version of the protagonist from the indie game Ghost of a Tale. In that game, he's semi-anthro and is just the cutest little thing. The game's still in development but you can buy it for Early Access off of Steam, GoG.com or directly from the website. Basically you wander around a beautifully rendered medieval, redwall-like environment trying to stay out of the sights of armored rat guards, collecting items, solving puzzles, ultimately looking for your mousey wife Merra, while learning all kinds of lore about this crittery world. The game is an absolute charmer, I highly recommend it.

You might notice that the lute on his back looks much different than it used to. Turns out I was screwing that up and not realizing it so I had to digitally fix it. Still isn't perfect but it'll do.

The warm glow of the lantern makes the setting appear almost like an old gold-leafed icon. The way the light shines on and through the fur is really nice. The texture work is also really cool-- seeing how you treated the fuzzy felt of his hat compared to the fur, or the rough speckly stone floor, or the shabby canvas of his shorts.

I mean, it's second nature to these people but sometimes I really wonder if they even realize they're doing it or if it's a force of habit. When I see Cuphead porn I think, is it that people legitimately wanted to see them fucking or do furries just literally not know any other way to be?
