This picture I did last year inspired on an event that happened many moons ago. I had found pictures and articles online of the event and decided to make a drawing based on what I saw. Relevance to this site is none besides I made my avatar based on it.

Bonus point if you can identify the event. The only two hints I will give are the helmet and the fact it is related to French history.
