The nezara are a species of lithoids with a few unique traits. Firstly, their two longer tentacle-arms contain each contain a branching feeding proboscis which can secrete an extremely powerful acidic enzyme, strong enough to pit and dissolve stone or rust metal; nezara will extent their proboscises across an "edible" surface like a web, corroding it rapidly.

Secondly, their "eye" is a complex compound lens also capable of emitting very bright bursts of light (accompanied by a particular sound produced by the panflute-like vocal organ in their back), inducing intense vertigo in nearby exposed organisms.
