So..... I just realized I never posted this last year.
Weeeeeeeell whatever, here we go.OLD TEXTI drew this up for
nitemare99's birthday! ^_^ ....which was yesterday D:
Anyway, there's a manga that Nite and I both read that, to my knowledge, got cancelled right before Nite's birthday, and I didn't read the chapter until Nite's birthday >_>;
As I was pissed off at the ending and wanted to make something nice for Nite's birthday, I channeled my nerdraging into an idea for a picture, and decided to recreate my favorite scene of the manga of my (and I think Nite's) favorite character in the manga, Tsukimi.
Last we saw Tsukimi, she was embracing the idea of embarking on a Quest for Love.
So, I got this idea in my head that maybe 10-15 years later after we last saw her, she's married and pregnant with triplets and when she hears her husband get home, she decides to surprise him with a "little something" for his birthday >B3c

http://www.mangahere.co/manga/love_.....o_ryohei/c008/ for the pages leading up to my favorite scene. Like, seriously, click two pages, (I hope) you won't be disappointed!: 3)
...Anyway, I also wanted to give a signal boost for this manga, even if it's technically already cancelled >~>;

"Love Rush!" is a short manga series by Yamamoto Ryohei, and while I suppose it's "too late now", I wanted to encourage people to check it out! ^_^;
The series is kind of a blend of things... A bit of Monster Girl Encyclopedia, a bit of To-Love-Ru, and maybe a bit of Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou as well~ (I'm probably forgetting a reference)
Either way, to me I consider it a "Love Letter" to people who enjoy "Monster Girl" manga/anime, so I consider it a crying shame it got cancelled >~>;Oh, on a technical note, this pic was also an experiment in trying to "ink" using simple, quick lines that are debatably easier to to draw than my sketch layers, making for a "light" and "free-flowing" inking experience. (...as opposed to my normal inking process which I can get a little anal-retentive about with my strokes never coming out as smooth as like and I try to be perfect with it and THAT NEVER HAPPENS XD; ) The only caveat about it is that the lineart comes out a bit "light" so for the finished product, I duplicate the lineart onto an extra layer to make everything darker! : 3
Also, since I was trying to recreate a scene, it led me to some nice experiments in reverse engineering the manga artist's techniques with creating her : 3
Like, for example, her hair and stockings both use a dark gradient that makes the lower half darker, to give those parts more depth!
I also applied the same technique to the writing she smeared on her belly (probably in a mirror), whatever it is ^^
The artist had a "dark shading" technique for her hair, stockings and tail to use a solid black shading in parts, and I tried to replicate that when I could (though it wasn't actually a solid black I used)
My main goal for this picture, in a sense, was to take a favorite moment, and "recapture it" somehow, just with a much more "mature" and "adult" version of Tsukimi. (Tsukimi is presumably 18 in the manga because that's the age the main guy is, though I thought it'd be fun to try drawing her at around 30ish and a bit MILF-y : 3)
By extension of that goal, it also allowed me to make a much more "detailed" version of the picture, though on subtle levels. (I may have possibly gone close to "all-out" on her hair, though I know it's subtle! X3; )
