this is so cool! i was 10 but getting into anime at the time

First animes I really saw as a 70s kid was stuff like Battle of the Planets [Gatchaman] and Robotech [Macross]

Technically my fave BRB series are Anime too [Animated by Studio Nippon] Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds + Around the world with Willy Fog

"Furry" was kind of in its infancy back then too, I remember getting a bag full of "Funny Animal" comics cheap from Comic shop [Albedo, Usagi Yojimbo, Critters etc] as no one brought them, same with early Manga ones as "No one brought that big eyed stuff"

and the cheap aspect is how I got into it as the stuff was being virtually given away though Ididnt get manga till I was in my teens

my first animes were Kimba the white lion, Speed Racer, Puss 'n Boots (who became Toei's emblem) and other, they took about a decade to being aired in the local TV so I watched them in the 70s
In late 70s and early 80s came the boom of Battle of the Planets, Mazinger Z, Heidi and Marco
Another boom during the 90s was the whole Dragon Ball trilogy

Samurai Pizza Cats, SD Gundam, Totoro, Nadia! Excluding the first, I was certain nobody outside of Japan (and maybe another nation or two), knew of these properties in 1992.

And also realized the 0092 Con In The Pocket title may be referencing Gundam 0080 War In The Pocket

We all did [Con Goers] Pizza Cats was on a saturday TV show over here pre-1992, Nadia, most of us had French copies off [Was on French TV] etc etc

1992 damn i wish i was a teen or young adult at the time.

I was a little toddler at the time. Looking at all these things i was to young to comprehend at the time just makes me wish i can go back in time but be alot older and just experience those things.

There was kinda a frontier spirit to it, but on the other hand it was kinda shit. Internet barely existed so trading or trying to get anything was a total [Expensive] nightmare, Having to buy a multi standard VHS player and trading for shitty VHS copies overseas, where now you just go on Crunchyroll or kissanime sites, scanslated manga etc, all the Anime CD soundtracks I bust a gut getting back then, are up on Youtube now etc

I feel a bit the same about Furry Fandom, back then you more or less HAD to go to Cons to meet other Furs [Internet was in its infancy] now theres Skype, SL and god knows what, so its like Muh
