Plasticina clay. That's all it is right now. Well, with a wire mesh core to build off of.

I'm thinking about how you'll be able to put it on, the neck dosen't seem very wide and can't see any open sides on it. :)
Can't say I know much about the process of making masks, but I assume this will be the actual mask once you're done with surface texture and such, right?

Well, I'll have to mould and cast this in a soft material. This is just clay right now, can't wear that! This clay especially, if it gets hot, it'll melt away, hahaha. And the neck's actually wider than my own neck x3 We were a little worried about making it too thick for me!

The neck and ears will be soft, while I'm still in debate about how the actual head will be. I'm debating hard or soft material for it.

Well atleast the final product will looks great if you can keep all these details through the process. :D

Just a note, you will need to fill in your mouth(Just leaving a little overhand which you will have to cut free) or the tips will pull out and break your beautiful creation :)

Cool :3 Its not hard, I usually do it last too, so I can see how it's going to turn out. Good luck casting! Are you casting in latex, silicone or fibreglass(or something else?)

The head itself is going to be harder material. My friends are suggesting a two part foam. I can't use silicone because I used Plasticina to sculpt with (the sulfur ruins the silicone) unless I can clean it out enough to do (which I don't trust either, hahaha). I want the ears and neck to be soft. I have a lot of options for it and my effects friends have opted to help me out with their opinions as well. There's plenty to choose from, just a matter of deciding what to go for.

I got to go to a couple effects shops too this week, I'm sort of apprenticing under one of my friends and following him around on a person project. ^^;

Oo. Two part foam is a good filler, but make sure it's self-skinning(hard to find). It'll break down super fast if you use it as a straight master cast, otherwise :D

I know 8I I had a conflict that I agreed to before I knew what the date was for the animations.
I'm bummed about not seeing what everyone was doing.

There was like 5 things going on that day too, was pretty nuts x-x

They're still only clay. I'm working out the insides, but it's going to be done similar to my dragon Millikan more than likely, cos it's simple.
