Color and lighting is one of my favorite things to play with aside from visual storytelling.
Also haft the time a texture is not even remotely related in any way to the image.. I just use them from time to time cus it has a cool effect .. I used to be very hesitant and admitly pretty bad at photo mashing being in the mentality of "it's cheating" but now it just another tool, I fell a bit better doing it now knowing that my painting will still be the focus above any random ass textures and even the texture will be modded and eventualy if it a full scene painting it should be nearly gone by the end of it anyways. pluss it makes some happy antecedents like Bob Ross would say. :P

Gah this is so beautiful! I love the character and how you have portrayed them with the good use of lighting and 'mood'.
