I'd been thinking about how Ulbhag would be able to breathe underwater, wondering if I should give him gills. But isn't the fact that he's an aquatic gargoyle enough to justify his underwater-breathing abilities? Ariel from The Little Mermaid doesn't have gills, and she can breathe under and above water quite easily.
Then I thought, what if the two of them were to meet? And that's how this drawing came to be! I think that Ariel would certainly be curious about Ulbhag. The title is a bit of a joke, because I always think of Ulbhag as a sea monkey :D

Although... it could be that her "hair" is actually gills.
I mean, some animals have gills like this: https://savethem4us.files.wordpress.....an-axolotl.jpg
Who knows?

This is really great! I would say, what stands out the most is Ariel's tail needs to be just a bit larger, proportion wise. I love the direction your art is going and I always enjoy neat little thoughts that lead to art like this.
