I really needed some happy Arik in my gallery, since it seems like I've only ever drawn him looking ticked off. Granted, this is kind of a rare occurrence, but let's enjoy it while it lasts.

You might not realize this by looking at him, but Arik's facial structure and build were based on a Somali cat (while his colors are closer to an American shorthair). I try to have a breed in mind for each of my cat characters (even though they're all technically mixed breeds) just so I have a point of reference. Anyway, I was looking for Somali pictures online and found this http://www.puppiesite.com/wp-conten.....sket-breed.jpg . Look at that cat. Just look at it. How could I not draw that? The original sketch was a quick, for fun, not really trying thing, but I ended up liking it enough to line and color it. The funny thing is I can never draw difficult poses when I'm really trying to. Go figure.
