Here is an experiment I ran.
Got some hot sausage and browned them in a pan on all sides. Then fried onions and butter in the sausage grease in the pan, added flour and tomato bullion to the carmalized onions fried a bit more then added milk to make tomato onion gravy.
Then made a spicy York Shire Pudding batter.
1 1/2 cups flour
3 beaten eggs
3 tbs melted butter
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp spicy southwestern seasoning
Whisk till smooth and let sit 15 to 30 mins
Then heated an oiled cassorole dish in the oven to 425 degrees when hot I put in the sausages and poured over the batter, baked 35-40 mins and covered with the gravy.
The pudding was crusty and spongy so I think I need to use a bigger pan next time.
As for the taste it is spicy and oh so good.
