Zootopia 2: The Natural Order - Chapter 5 (Oscar Winners!)
Outside of the ZPD, casually dressed animals of different species can be seen outside with their ZPD relatives, or heading inside the building. Judy and Nick ride up to a sidewalk parking space and Nick kicked open it's kickstand. Curiously looking around, Judy tried to see if she could spot anyone from her own family walking around.
"See anyone from your family Carrots?"
Judy gently shook her head. "Nope. They're probably already inside waiting or looking for me."
"Well then," said Nick as he gently patted her back, "Let’s not keep them waiting." Nick and Judy made their way to front entrance while being respectfully waved at by other ZPD officers and their family members. Once inside they could see a few long tables with food and drinks and multiple different animals talking, laughing and having fun with their fellow officers and family members.
Judy scoffed impressively. "It may have been spontaneous, but it looks as though it's going pretty well."
"Sure is," said Nick as he placed his hands in his pockets, "But..." He then leaned in and whispered to Judy. "Still curious as to why a 'Family Day' was scheduled in the first place?"
Judy folded her arms and whispered back to him. "Ohhhh yes, but we'll talk to Bogo and find out later. Right now I want to see who in my family was able to come." She nudged him gently in the arm with her right elbow. "You should too."
Nick gently scoffed but smiled at the same time. "The only one in my family who could be here is my mom. Shouldn't be that hard to find her in here." He looked back up and suddenly spotted Alexander Jaguarez in front of the front desk of the ZDP greeting and shaking hands. "You know," he pointed in Alex's direction, "I think a City Council President and future mayor of Zootopia would be a better guy to ask about this than the Police Chief."
Judy looked to where Nick was pointing and excitedly gasped. She ran over to Alex who had just finished talking with a couple cops. "Alex!" He turned to his left and saw Judy running towards him.
"Judy!" He knelt down on one knee and held out his arms. Judy leapt into his embrace as they both laughed happily. He set her back down and stood back up.
"It's so good to see you again!" Nick casually walked up behind Judy as she and Alex continued their conversation.
"Likewise," said Alex, "Haven't seen you and Nick here since the day you busted Dawn Bellwether."
"I know," said Judy embarrassingly, "But when got a city-sized mess involving predator and prey relations to help clean up, as well as you becoming temporary acting mayor...social lives tend to get put on hold for a while."
"Don't I know it," said Alex with a chuckle, "Who would've thought that we'd go from being in a play together to becoming two large pillars of the greatest city on Earth?"
"Not a lot I bet." Nick said with a smug grin on his face. Judy playfully punched him in the arm. "Ow."
"By the way," said Judy, "Do you happen to know why a 'Family Day' was even spontaneously set up for? These things are usually told months in advance."
Alex rubbed the back of his head. "I don't actually. Sorry. Lionheart or the Chief would be the ones to ask. I'm just as in the dark about as to why it was set up as you are."
"Wow," said Judy as she stood mildly dumbfounded, "Can't believe YOU don't even know. Well we were going to go see the chief late anyway, so I guess we'll just ask him."
"By the way," said Nick, "Why are here anyway? Just as curious about it as we are?"
"You could say that." Alex took out a small notebook from inside his pants pocket. "But mostly I'm just here to make sure it's going okay and no problems are popping up." He scribbled some words down in the notebook. "And it prettying had. I was just about to leave before my old friend here blindsided me."
Judy smiled up at him. "It was good to see you again Alex."
"It was good to see you too Judy." He knelt down again and shook her hand goodbye.
"If you hear from Bobby and Sharla, tell them I said hello?"
"Absolutely." Nick walked up to him to shake his again goodbye too. "Nick."
"Alex. Take care of yourself. Oh and uh..." Since Alex was still kneeling down, it was easy for Nick to whisper to him without anyone noticing besides Judy. "Thanks again for helping me with my tax problem a while back."
"No problem," Alex whispered back, "Remember; I grew to become an expert with that stuff." Alex stood back up and brushed off his knee. "Take care you two."
"And you as well Alex." As Alex left their company to make his way out of the building, Nick and Judy then heard Clawhauser's voice behind them.
"O...M...G..." Nick and Judy turned to see Clawhauser standing behind the desk in a green short sleeve sweater. "You two really are friends with the next mayor of the city!" He began to speak very giddily. "That is soooo cooool!"
"Clawhauser," said Nick confusingly, "Why are you acting so surprised?"
"Yeah," said Judy, "I told you this a while back."
"Oh," Clawhauser exclaimed, "You must be thinking of my brother."
"Brother?" Nick and Judy said at the same time.
"That's me!" Judy and Nick, expressing shock, looked to see Benjamin Clawhauser come from
around the back of the desk, wearing his cop uniform. "Hey guys! I see you met my troublemaker of a twin brother William."
William chuckled. "Oh please, call me Will."
Benjamin placed both hands on Will's shoulders and gently shook him back and forth. "He's the family member of mine who could make it here today."
"And I'm glad you did. I can't believe I got to meet Alex Jaguarez, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps all in the same day!"
"Not as awesome as getting to see Gazelle up close in concert though."
"Oh definitely not."
"Can you believe her next album is-"
"Almost here? No I cannot!"
"And it has the re-mastered version-"
"Of her first hit single-"
"'Are They the One'!"
"It's going to be so amazing!"
Judy and Nick continued to stand there as their eyes darted back and forth at them when they each reached the end of their sentences. Nick leaned down slightly and whispered to Judy. "Twin brother? More like a clone."
Just then, Chief Bogo could be heard on the next floor. "Hopps! Wilde!" Judy and Nick as well as Benjamin and Will and a few other animals looked up towards him. "Was wondering when you two would get here. Report to my office, we got some things to discuss."
Nick and Judy looked to each other. Nick shrugged. "Guess we're doing the 'talk to Bogo and find out later' thing now."
On the next floor level where Bogo was waiting for them, he could be seen flipping through sheets of paper on a clipboard. "Hey Chief," said Judy, "What do you want to discuss?"
Bogo looked down at them and stared blankly at their clothes. "Something that requires you both to be in uniform. Go into your respective locker rooms and change into your spare ones."
"But Chief..." Nick said.
Bogo defensively held up his left hand. "I know, I know. The notification letter you received said that they weren't necessary. But what we need to talk about, IS." Nick and Judy stood there in confusion, both of them unable to find anything to say. "Oh, and don't worry about any members of your family wondering where you might be Hopps. They told me that today was too busy for them to be able to make it."
"I thought as much." Judy made a fake half smile to try and hide her disappointment. "Just didn't want to say it out loud in case I'd jinx it." Nick could tell she was putting on a brave face. He wanted to say something didn't know what TO say to make her feel better.
"Wilde," Nick looked up at Bogo, "Your mother said that she'd be a little late getting here." Nick's expression changed to surprise knowing that his mother really is going to show up. "She'll probably get here after we've had our discussion."
"Nick," a voice came from behind him and Judy and they both turned to see a middle-aged female fox standing a ways away from them.
"Mom," exclaimed Nick excitedly.
"Or right now," said Bogo sarcastically.
"See anyone from your family Carrots?"

Thanks. Started working on this chapter a while back and had to think up plot elements like Clawhauser's twin brother. When they won the Globe I jumped back on it and then when they won the Oscar I immediately went to upload it when I finished it. The next few chapters are going to be the ones I looked forward to doing the most:
Nick's mom, and the debrief on the new villain.
Nick's mom, and the debrief on the new villain.
Oh no of course not. I try to make this as close to the script of a film as my knowledge of writing a story can give me. Since Clawhauser made 6 appearances in the film, a much minor role like his twin brother should have half that many appearances: Beginning, middle and end.
