So here is Blueflare! This is of course how she looks before her choices nearly get her killed. oops!
Blueflare is an oddball, but she plays it out pretty well. Most ponies don't suspect that there might be a screw loose until its too late.
Her cutiemark is a night blooming lily flower called Red flare, it also has a spiral in the center of it, possibly because of her personality.
She uses magic to make her hair look "fluid and sparkly."
And her magic appears as a bright blue before accident, after its a dull grey .
She comes from a rather posh and highly successful family, She grew up in Manehatten. When it became obvious that her magical talent was extra special, her parents sent her to canterlot to study magic, she was eventually selected to be taught by Princess Twilight Sparkle so she then moved to Ponyville. While still living in Canterlot, she met Fluttershy, who must have seen through Blueflare's "better than you" exterior, they become extremely close friends over the years.
It is through Fluttershy that she eventually meets Discord, and for her it was love at first sight...
To put the timeline into perspective, Blue is of the same generation/age as Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo.
She looks up to Fluttershy as a friend but also unofficially as a sort of surrogate mother, as her own parents never were very affectionate, and moved her to Canterlot when she was a young filly.
