still practicing baby chee faces. not as happy with this one, even though I did it after the previous upload... not sure why? I have a really, really hard time with cat muzzles/faces.

I think the lower jaw needs to be extended a bit more, the eyes shrunk SLIGHTLY in size and set a bit farther apart, and maybe the ears set back farther along the head a tad.

My only other advice is to look at LOTS of pictures of cheetahs. =\

thanks for the help! i'll keep these things in mind.

i did make the eyes larger than a real baby cheetah on purpose though, just to exaggerate wide cat eyes. I've been looking at cheetah photos and videos nonstop for the past few days *-*

I got the impression of an attempt to draw a more cartoony form, rather than a pure realistic form.

as for the rest.... Try asking some of the bigger name artists nicely =P

Awww, he's adorable :) You did a really good job getting the facial features down. The only critique I have is that their head is more rounded at the top and they have very high foreheads.

I think in the previous sketch, you gave him more forehead space and a smaller muzzle, which made him look really young.
This one still looks fine to me. I think you've got the eyes just right. :D

I'm not really a great artist, but I saved this and tried to redline it from some ref photos of cheetah cubs, and I can't figure out what makes it look off. It looks sort of mousey, but it also looks too close to the photos of cheetah cubs I'm looking at to say what the problem is.
I think it may be that the muzzle is too long. It seems like you got the curve of the nose-bridge thing right though. The nose should probably be slightly bigger, too.
