The biggest influence in my interest in japanese culture and folklore was the King of Fighters series, particularly 95 through 97. Through it, and the story of the Kusanagi, Yagami and Orochi bloodlines, it was the beginning of the inspiration for the backstories of the characters in my writing, although it has long since cut those influences to be based more around the folklore of Orochi and Yokai.

Of course, both Akeashar and Niah being avid cosplayers, going back to their creation, getting some art of Niah cosplaying as NESTS era Kyo by Ashryn, also a KoF fan, was fun. Akeashar and Niah share control of shadows in their repertoire of powers, so their fires are made of darkness.

That reminds me. I need to track her down and give her a poke to get back my copy of King of Fighters Kyo!
