Michael is actually a -really- old oc of mine, as in like...7+ years old, but like..man, I got nostalgic and popped him up for a revamp :,)

Anyway, this right here is Michael Calder! He's a member of the Grim Reaper species, and he...yeah, he definitely takes his job really seriously. To be honest, he doesn't necessarily have to wear the robes or use the scythe or anything, and the other Reapers see him as rather antiquated, but...He has no idea how edgy and ridiculous he looks and sort of rolls with it.

He definitely wakes up every morning and thinks about how cool he is, it's kind of embarrassing to be around him to be honest :(
All in all, he takes his job as a Reaper quite seriously, and does his best to collect the souls he's assigned to. Of course, in his own misfortune, one of the last souls he was assigned to was Jared's.

Of course, since Jared is an undead necromancer with no desire to fully die, the likelyhood of that soul ever becoming available to take is...pretty much zero. Michael, however, refuses to accept this, and has hounded after Jared's soul for decades now, not really realizing that he's never going to get the vulture to give in. However, Michael refuses to allow a single blemesh upon his 100% retrieval record and has therefore dropped all other duties in order to pursue his quest. ...Therefore making things even worse, to be honest, since all the souls in his posession are kind of stuck in stasis until he goes back to his job instead of obsessing over the one that got away.

A part of his perfectionest persona likely stems from the fact that he's one of the few pure born Grim Reapers, grandson of one of the highest ranked Reapers around. He therefore considers himself an incarnation of Death itself, but....that's pretty far from the truth. In terms of abilities, Michael's powers are somewhat lacking when compared to other Reapers of his age, and despite boasting an otherwise perfect track record with gathering souls, his ability to get along with others is pretty much nil, meaning he's unable to partner up with ayone else since his pride gets in the way and ultimately he always manages to screw himself over before the mission is through.

The majority of Michael's abilities revolve around minor dimensional warping, similar to Eldritch abilities, and it's possible that he has a touch of the Eldrtich species within his bloodline, though he'd never admit it if it were true. He is able to grow and manipulate a set of four tentacles, which he can form into all sorts of fun things, such as wings, tendrils, or whips if need be. His main offensive weapon is his scythe, "Butcher's Blade", which is able to seemlessly sever the soul from the body in a single swing. ...Assuming he can aim it right, at least. His eyesight is abhorrant without his glasses, and with an anger problem like his, he ends up seeing red in more ways than one!

Overall, Michael is quiet, a dedicated nihilist, and a total grump any way you look at him. He prefers the company of his own scythe more than he likes being around even his family, but perhaps as a result of his rather stoic/unhappy personality, it's unbearably easy to get him all flustered and embarrassed.

Regardless, since he's sort of an unofficial member of Jared's little band of necromancers and misfits, he does his best to get along with everyone, though ultimately all he does is manage to put everyone off with his haughtiness.

Tbh Jared just thinks Michael's an edgelord and keeps him around because he thinks it's hilarious that the edgy reaper even exists in the first place.

~~~Fun facts!~~~
-Michael's physical strength is through the roof, and he would actually be way better off just fighting with his fists as opposed to his scythe. He's far too proud to do that though.

-When in the living realm, he wears the guise of a priest, and has actually worked steadily as a human priest for the last few years since he realized he needs money if he's going to stay in the living realm to hunt after Jared.

-Michael adopted a merfolk baby some years back while visiting a coastal village while on the hunt for Jared. He was originally going to leave it to die, but couldn't bring himself to take a soul before its time, and has raised the boy as his own. The two have a fairly good relationship, but even Justin realizes what a total edgelord his father is and can't help but cringe everytime he sees the reaper in public. Michael remains completely oblivious to this, as with most things, predictably.

-He wears high heels underneath his robes. Shh, it's a secret.
