An alternate happy ending for Ariel and Eric, from Disney's the Little Mermaid.
Instead of Triton willingly taking his daughter's place, Ursula transforms Ariel into a polyp anyways and was cursed to be a polyp for eternity. Discovering this, Eric comes to save Ariel from Ursula by throwing a harpoon at her, killing her. In retaliation, she magically blasts Eric and turns him into a polyp as well before dying. Eric knew the consequences and fully embraces his fate into being a polyp to be with his beloved Ariel. As long as they were together, Ariel and Eric were happy and they fully accepted their new lives as polyps together. Since then, they both lived happily ever after.
