I had the great pleasure of working on the Poster design for Texas Furry Fiesta this year! Their theme is 'Mad Science', and I thought I'd create art based on a REAL mad scientist, and an oft-forgotten, underrated fellow at that ;) I give you - Tesla fox! Go google Nikola Tesla right now if you don't already know how much modern society owes him.

Tesla is my favorite. He was a great mind, way better than Edison in my opinion. He died way too young.
Also I still remember the sound effect of the tesla coils frome the first c&c red alert. x3
And I love that this picture shows something that, according to eye witnesses, actually happened. So far I remember the stories that's how Tesla presented HIS electricity to the public. He wanted to show to the audience that it's absolutely safe to handle.

In all honesty, I don't see anything mad about this science despite the risks of fire and/or electrocution. Maybe it's because I don't see the full picture.
Anyway, your attention to detail is still as strong as ever with fine, flexible textures and an evenly-focused composition.

(David Bowie) "You are familiar with the phrase 'man's reach exceeds his grasp'? Is a lie. Man's grasp exceeds his nerve. Society only tolerates one change at a time. The first time I tried to change the world, I was hailed as a visionary. Second time, I was asked politely to retire. (chuckles) So here I am, enjoying my retirement."
Am I the only one for whom this brings to mind the electric wars between Edison and Tesla in which many dogs were sacrificed via electrocution?
I couldn't help drawing the connection being as the subject of this artwork is canine. Morbid though it may be, it's almost amusing to have that ironic depth or substance. Then this is Rukis we're talking about.

Excellent furry rendition of the incredible inventor. I suppose it kind of does fit the theme "Mad Science" in a way-- he was eventually driven insane by the electromagnetic energies he was experimenting with interfering with the signals between his neural synapses. He ended up a recluse in his last days, believing he could telepathically communicate with pigeons... Anyways, great pic!
