When an anonymous commissioner asks for Splinter, how can I say no? Not my usual iteration, but still fun to do! I even tried a couple of experiments with colored linework and shadows, which I think turned out well!

You mean redesigned him for the show and made him a total husbando compared to all the other Splinters, which just went by the "old master that is also a rat" theme?
As far as I know, nothing really changed in his character except for the patterns in his fur. lol

for me 87 is the top and archie added some good add ons, 2003 is mr personality, the movie one is grrrrrrrrrrreat, 07 was fun and the mirage one was pretty nice but 2012s design is weird and it was like they didn't know what to do with him.
