He can control every fiber on the feathers to adjust the amount of light they bounce back in mirror mode. Little light means he can hide and camouflage really well without glare from light sources giving him away, and lots of light means don’t shine a flashlight on him unless you have those types of sunglasses that people wear during a solar eclipse.
