And here is a small story I did some time ago, on which this commission is based.

Into the darkest pit you fell, yet it was not enough deep for you.
You reach the bottom and dig trough it, having a need for isolation.
Into an even darker abyss you crawl to, death and silence was all around you.
You reached a new bottom, one that you though no one could find you.
But, you underestimated what a Wolf does for a mate in danger.
For a single ray of light descended upon the pit into your cheek.
Your coil up wanting nothing but that solitude, tears going down your face, a muffled cry, not wanted to be heard, you attempt to hide yourself and your emotions.
But little by little that ray of light starts to become bigger, giving you a warm feel on your face as well as a faint voice calling your name.
The darkness around you feeling your desire of solitude, wraps you and you are engulfed completely into it.
Suddenly, just as the darkness got stronger, so did the light. You open your eyes for a moment to see the cocoon your inside of, so dark you can barely see your own hand, yet with you, you see a white feather, which seems to be emanating a warm feel and ligth, you grab it and hold it close to your chest, making you feel something, unsure of what exactly, but it felt good.
You close your eyes but immediately open them when you heard noise, like something hitting your dark cocoon.
A voice again was heard calling your name, the voice was unrecognizable, yet it felt strangely familiar to you.
Again and again, the cocoon around you shakes with every hit it receives until it starts to crack.
A new feeling of desperation fills you and the darkness intensifies as new layers materialize on the cocoon. But the banging only became stronger.
You lower your ears and yell "Leave me alone" and you only heard a muffled response, "The feather" it was what you heard.
You opened your eyes for a moment and time seemingly froze for everyone but you, as you look at the feather and press it against your cheek. It felt really familiar and warmth again.
For a moment a feeling of serenity fill you up, and in that instant, a paw reaches trough the cocoon and gets a hold of yours.
While that paw seemed to be forced to figth trough solid layers of pure darkness, your body just pass trough it, as if the darkness was just an illusion.
Your whole body it's finally out, and you can see who pull you, it was Xionix, with angelic like wings emanating a warm radiant light.
You gaze at his eyes for a moment and so did he, before he places you in his arms and starts flying outside of the pit.
He lifts his head and heads into the mouth of the pit, all the time your in his arms you feel something inside of you which was missing for many years, something you though you wouldn't feel again. To be loved ~
And he kept flying up but just before reaching the top you look at his wings and notice he is missing a single feather, to which you realize it's the one that was inside with you on the cocoon.

Finally emerging from the abyss, you saw him directly at the eyes again and he says "I will never let you be alone again" and gives you a sweet kiss on you cheek as he wraps you on his wings. I will crawl trough the 9th rings of hell if I have too, dwell into the deepest pit, in the coldest part of the ocean... I will never let my mate alone <3
