Well second melee weapon to find itself into the Mech Arsenal is the Sword. I want to work out a set up so it fits into the shsield but currently I'd need to make a shield before i started to try and fix it the way i see it into the sheild. Also have a idea about a shield sword hybrid but currently need to work out how I want it to look as well.

The mech sword, lighter than the heavy weapons most mechs carry, never runs out of power or bullets and strikes fear into pilots when the enemy rushes them headlong with the sword bared from its hiding place. Piercing through the armor into the cockpit, severing limbs and enemy weapons, the sword is the weapon of choice when all other weapons have been spent.

For lack of a better reason, I will likely avoid 'beam sabers' since they are too overused, I'll likely just have the blade be like the heat hawks the Zaku's use in the gundam universe just so i don't have to worry with having people claim I'm stealing idea's from the gundam series, though according to what I've seen and read most other mecha anime's have 'beam sabers' in some form or fashion. =/ But for the sake of trying to be original i'll more or less make the edge of the sword super heated so it cuts through armor and weapons like butter. Also even if the blade isn't becoming a heat knife it'll steal have the same function of a sword.
