Her earliest works (oil paintings of forest landscapes and bull fighters in action) used to adorn the walls of our various homes in the Bronx, Queens, Elmont (all in New York), and Margate (Florida). While she was going for her B.A. at C.W. Post College (in Greenvale, New York) during the 1980s and early 1990s, she took up other forms of art. I'm posting one of said other forms she'd experimented with...
This is a piece of watercolor art Mom worked on, with a trio of ducks amidst the scenery, flying over a forest of barren trees, and passing up a chance to take a break in a small pond below. Using a variety of colors, she'd made an overcast sky, with clear breaks of lights through the clouds near the top of the paper canvas she'd used for this work.
I hope to present one or two more art pieces from Sheila Martinez (continuing a family tradition that began with her own father Benjamin Shell), with future images from yours truly and my sister Rhonda and Sis's own daughters Erica and Corynne. These works of art will remain in my 'Gallery' until July, 2017 - when they will be subsequently transferred to my 'Scraps' section...
