I've been fascinated with paper-cutting as an art for a while now - the intricate, painstaking detail, the interesting styles it results in - so I finally got around to trying my hand at it. Since I was more interested in trying out paper-cutting than coming up with an original composition, I used "Emerald Forest" by Collin Bogle as a reference - it's beautiful, you should check it out here :)
Anyway, I whipped this together a few weekends back, before my computer troubles began, and I haven't had a chance to upload it until now. I'm pretty happy with it (or at least, it looks decent above our bed :b), and I think I might try doing a paper-cutting of my own Forest Sentry next time.
12x16 black card on white paper, gold pen - 10 hours, maybe?

No, I haven't - part of the reason why papercutting appeals to me is it doesn't require any special equipment. I haven't had the fortune of having the time, space or money for art supplies, especially since we were expecting to have to move house maybe every few months. Extra "stuff" is just a pain and UK rooms are quite small compared to North American ones, so just haven't bothered building up a new collection.
Thanks :)
No, although I've always wanted to for the same reason that papercutting appeals to me. There aren't any proper art stores around here, however, and we just don't have the time/space/money to start building up a new collection of traditional art supplies unfortunately :b

Uh oh.... looks like my jealous ex has caught me with another. I told her 20 seconds is never going to cut it.
Still, she is quite striking! Much to the credit of the artist
I wonder if this could be made into a black vinyl sticker for say, a white car. Gold eye sold separately?
