Hey there guys, I thought I'd share some new art that I worked on this week! I'm still practicing with my Muscle style (trying to develop that bulgy muscle style) and I've been meaning to update my Lombax character Spike's design. This was so much fun to draw and had a blast updating Spike's look. hough I really couldn't decide if I wanted Spike to keep larger eyes or go for smaller eyes so I included both versions.
Spike usually wears this kind of outfit to the gym, much to Kai's utter delight who gets all hot and bothered seeing him in his rather small Gym gear (Not that Spike minds, in fact he relishes seeing Kai's red face when he's in Gym attire lol).
Anyway, I'd like to think my style is slowly but steadily improving. I hope you all enjoy and stay tuned for more work coming soon!

Nice to see this buff lombax again. I can see why Kai likes to see him in that outfit, all sweaty after workout
I'd say you are definitely improving, I especially like those big, meaty pecs of his. I'm not sure about the eyes on the
right version though, they kinda seem crossed to me. But that's just a small nitpick on the whole, I know how
difficult eyes can be.
It would be nice to see him interacting with his kitty boyfriend in the future

Haha yeah, Spike's always in for a fun time when he comes home from the gym and can't keep the little kitty off of him (noth that he doesn't mind lol)

I'm really trying to venture more into the bulgy muscle style and trying to get used to extending proporions like pecs and legs lol About the eyes on the right, I wasn't sure if I should keep Spike with larger eyes or make them smaller though I decided to just stick with larger eyes since that is one of the dominant facial characteristics of a Lombax (going off a Alister who is a fully adult lombax).
And I'm going to try drawing him with Kai soon so stay tuned

You did right by sticking with larger eyes, they fit him better. I think those smaller pupils make him look shocked or surprised, must be due to the overall size of his eyes.

Why yes, Kai does greet Spike wearing those little panties when he gets back from the Gym which drives the lombax crazy because he loves the little kitty's bubble butt. In fact, Kai tends to surprise Spike wearing all kinds of skimpy things from little undies to boy-shorts and even his own little exercise outfit I've shown a few times. Sometimes if Spike calls ahead of time letting Kai know he's on his way home after pumping iron, the kitty will pop in his "Booty-pump" workout video and do the workout to entice him once he steps through the door lol So yeah, they do have a playful side in their relationship and with Spike getting bigger and bulkier by the passing months, it only intensified it lol

Oh absolutely. Since Kai is quite the pecs/chest, arm, and leg lover, those are the target areas Spike likes to workout the most and when it comes to leg day, it's one of Spike's favorites because Kai gives him a lot, and I mean a lot of TLC on his legs when he gets back from the gym.
In fact, when Spike was considering to stop going for the super shredded look, he was afraid Kai wouldn't be attracted to a bulkier/beefier frame until he shared his feelings about it and learned that Kai loved his beefier frame way more than his old chiseled look so that only fueled Spike to not worry so much about six-pack abs and target the chest, arms, and legs that he knew Kai loved so much.
And well, other than that, he generally loves showing off and flexing for the kitty while wearing all kinds of skimpy attire from his gym attire as shown here and in the alternate colors follow up picture as well as sexy themed uniforms he bought on his travels (like sexy police uniform, sailor, sexy army man, etc.).
So yeah, they really have a playful relationship that compliment each other well.

Haha thanks! Yeah, it's kind of a look in to my own psyche since Kai Cat is based on myself and Spike represents the kind of person I'd love to meet one day. But even more, I noticed that in the anthro muscle community, big muscle anthros are usually paired with other muscle anthros and while I think that's cool and all, I love size contrast of someone so big and built with someone who is smaller and lean. And because of my increasing interest in bigger, beefier muscular type characters, I figured it would be great to beef up Spike to where he is now. ^_^
And yeah, at the end of the day, they both really adore each other and when they're away from each other for somewhat long periods of time (like if Spike has to go to his Galactic Ranger training seminars for 2-3 weeks or go out on a mission), Kai of course misses him terribly and vice-versa lol
