I forgot to post this and now is as good a time as ever...
Words ca not describe the ways in which I feel for my wife. Even in all my characters, she exists as a crucial part of my story. She is the Escap'e to my Rune who share a soul and thus can not live without each other...and Escap'e is a teacher, a guardian, and a friend to Rune in all ways- and their love may not be a romantic one, but it is just as true and just as important. She is the Thyra to my Masika...a proud Leothaun warrior that keeps me safe and who taught Masika how to fight and taught Masika that she deserved happiness and deserved to be treated with only the utmost love and respect. Like Thyra my wife is goofy, is charming, but knows when to put her foot down and be a soldier. She rucks up when things get tough, and she is the rock that keeps me steady...
And most importantly, and firstly, she has always been Shewulf...and I have always been Mia. And from the moment we met, we knew there was a connection between us. Whether it was at the smoke pit, or it was on that hill, or whether or not it was the day she picked me up and saved my life while it was raining...there it was...that string. Like a lifeline, connected between our hearts. Every day that she has been gone in this deployment...that string has been tugging. I feel her absence in a way I can not describe...like a piece of myself is gone, the string is tugging, and that reminds me she is alive, she is well, but that we yearn to be reunited. It's been a struggle...this distance. But, I think it has only made us stronger, made that bond deeper, and has reminded me that, without this amazing woman...I see the world in black and white.
A world without her would be like living in a world of beautiful music, but hearing it through a bubble...everything distorted...unnatural. I can say with certainty that without her I would merely be a husk of the person I am now...and I also know that she is the only reason my feet ever made it back to American soil.
But enough of the mushiness...
I just can't show her enough how much she means to me, and that I truly will love this woman forever and always.
