One of Kaliya's main goals in the mortal realms is to research and document as much of the natural world as she can. Travelers who wander into the Feywild are often overwhelmed by the exuberance of existence there and might find the intensity of non-fey life has dimmed in comparison upon their return. However, mushrooms towering overhead and glowing brightly enough to illuminate the cities supported on their broad caps aren't out of the ordinary for those born in the Feywild. These mundane mushrooms are exotic to Kaliya and she is enchanted by the dramas of their lives.
