This was a very interesting experiment. I used bristle-like brushes to imitate a real painting, and also as an experiment I tried painting the characters on a single layer, including the manes and the bow. This is not so optimal in digital as it makes corrections harder, but it was a very interesting experience and I learned a lot from it.
