How delightful to be commissioned to paint of my favourite fictional characters. It's always a bit of a challenge to paint Pern dragons. No horns, no crest, no scales. All things I love to put on my dragons. Still it was a real treat to paint Ruth and a trio of his firelizard friends.

Oh gods, I love this piece!
I first picked up the Pern series back in high school around 1984, and it wasn't the Dragonriders of Pern, it was The White Dragon that was my first exposure to Anne's work. I had a HUGE connection to Jaxom and his White friend, understanding some of his trials and triumphs during that story.
If I had to say so, these three would have to be from Menolly's 'fair of fire lizards: the gold would have to be Beauty, the Green, possibly Auntie One or Auntie Two, which leaves us Uncle, Menolly's only Blue fire lizard. (Mind, Jaxom's wife Sharra had two, but they were a Bronze, Talla, and a Brown, Meer).
Thanks for sharing this with us! Looking forwards to seeing more art from you in the future!
