So I went on youtube and screencapped some first encounter faces for drawing references. I think they came out well.

I took another look, and I never noticed those heavy lines under his eyes in the movie until you mentioned them. =p I guess my eyes were drawn elsewhere, huh?
Also because those lines are dark on an already dark brown of his scales, so there's that too. He seems to have them in the second encounter too though.
